This summer, I had the opportunity to design the leadership development track of Singularity University‘s Global Solutions Program.
It was a unique priviledge to hold the container of community for 90 leaders from 47 countries as they collaborated to solve climate change applying exponential technologies.
Because Singularity University sits in the heart of Silicon Valley, I needed to correct the local bias by presenting an alterantive worldview. Dr. Anita Sanchez’s work, so beautifully present in her new book out now, “The Four Sacred Gifts: Indigenous Wisdom for Modern Times,” was the perfect way to ground a discussion of the community vision and values and vision we wanted to create.
Anita’s wisdom carries the story of how Elders gathered to share four sacred gifts that are what is neeed for changemakers at this time. They are the power to forgive the unforgiveable, the power of healing, the power of unity and the power of hope. Together they form a harmonious toolkit with which changemakers can navigate the challenges that come our way.
I hope you enjoy my interview with Dr. Anita Sanchez and I encourage you to pick up a copy of her book.
We know that the accelerating rate of technological change creates all kinds of stress. It is essential that leaders have tools not just to care for our own well-being, but to navigate the relational space between each ourselves and each other with grace and compassion.
I hope you enjoyed Anita’s wisdom and that you are encouraged to explore the four sacred gifts on your own journey.
